Licensing

Q.

What is the licensing model?

It is concurrent users licensing model. Every user can open unlimited terminal sessions within single browser instance. It will be counted as a single license usage.

What is the payment model?

It is perpetual one-time payment without additional cost.

Q.

What is your price policy for large number of users?

We have a base price / user with great discounts depending on number of concurrent users.

Q.

Is licensing related to the LPAR partition or machine?

To machine. All partitions have the same QSRLNBR. License can be splited (limited) through web admin console for every partition.

Does the license allow multiple users on a single PC?

Absolutely. Every user session (not terminal session) will be counted as a single license usage.

Q.

Licensing for a secondary backup server?

After you sign a memorandum confirming machine is used only as an alternative backup, we will provide you 1year renewable license.

Support

Q.

What is the maintenance policy?

There is an optional yearly maintenance fee which include technical support and product updates.

Q.

What kind of support do you provide?

For small clients, there are 50 tickets included in maintenance and support. For large clients, support is unlimited.

Q.

Do you support SLA?

Yes, every client gets basic SLA-6. Clients with yearly maintenance program, automatically get SLA-3. SLA-1 is also available at additional cost.

We need additional feature?

Customer requested feature is charged separately. If the feature is included as a standard offering, we might do it free of charge.

What is difference between SLA-6, SLA-3 and SLA-1?

Number denotes response time from 6hr to 1hr regardless of time zone.

Installation

Q.

Do we need to install terminal on every worksation?

No. Green Screen Service is a product installed on a centeral server (MS Windows, Linux, IBM i). Workstation operators opens URL link to the Green Screen Server for terminal session.

Q.

Can we install Green Screens Server on the cloud?

Yes. Make sure your IBM i servers are accessible from cloud location.

Q.

Is there a suport for large volume workstations installations?

Yes. In most cases, there is nothing to be installed on user workstation. However, browser extension and integration modules can be instaleld through PDC login script.

Can you assist us with installation?

Yes. For local installation, please ensure remote access to the location where to install the product through remote access software.

Where Green Screens can be installed?

Almost everywhere Java runtime is accessible. MS Windows, Linux, AIX, IBM i, cloud environment, Docker etc.

Can browser extension be installed and configured silently without online access?

Yes, there is a registriy file which can be distributed hrough PDC login process for silent install. There is also silent config procedure.

Modernization

Q.

Is modernization automatic?

Not yet. We are working on v4.0 release which will have automatic modernization. Expected release is in the first quarter of 2020.

Can we do it or we need to hire you?

Yes, you can do it. However, you will need some short education to learn how to do it.

Q.

What is the pricing model for modernization?

There is fixed price / screen with discounts for larger number of screens to modernize.

Q.

Can we mix terminal screen and UI?

Yes. Modernization engine will render UI layer on top of existing screens. You can always switch between them.

Is there a support for images?

Yes. Images might be dynamc, related to screen data.

Q.

Does it work in mobile app also?

Yes, once screen is modernized, it will work in browser and mobile without any additional requirements.

Do you need source code from us?

No. Just export screen you want to modernize with export option from context menu on live browser terminal session.

Q.

Will it change backend code?

No. It is web templating technology which will "dress up" existing screens.

Is there support for older browsers?

No. Due to the fast developemnt of new web standards, we decided to discontinue support for old browser technologies.

Is there support for barcode?

Yes. Barcode might be dynamic, related to screen data. More than 60 formats are available.
